Dont Worry. Will keep your niece and the family in my prayers. This is what I was able to gather from online.

What are the survival rates for acute lymphoblastic leukemia? About 98% of children with ALL go into remission within weeks after starting treatment. About 90% of those children can be cured. Patients are considered cured after 10 years in remission.

With proper care, treatment, love, affection and positivity around her, she can live as long as we all are going to be.

    Thanks everyone for your concerns.

The child went through a lot during these 3 months, but all to end with a positive note.
She did not go into remission after 29th day of Induction treatment. It was a shock to us, because her reports were more than perfect till day 20 or so. But then, her MRD was positive, and she had to go for some extensive treatment for the next 2 weeks.
Lot of hospital admission and lot of money has been spent then.

During this, SIL and the servant maid had to be very strict with what she ate, and overall hygiene of the house because she was almost neutropenia due to the heavy dose of chemo, hence became constantly sick. Which means, chemo delays every now and then. So, her consolidation period lasted for more than 2 months though it was suppose to end in 28 days.

Her Hb and platelet counts went very low during these times, but we transfused them every now and then.
After a point her platelet went too low for no reason because her chemo was on hold then, and there wasn't any reason for it to go low.

But then we found out that she was exposed to certain virus and food poisoning etc... and got admitted in the hospital again.

So much emotional crisis from everyone concerned during this time. But with the grace of God, everything came back positive now.
Yes, she is MRD negative, means she in remission for the first time since diagnosis.

Treatment will continue for the next 2 years, though not aggressively.
The kid is cooperating very well. Thank God.

Since she is neutropenia and SIL is not in the good frame of her mind, we decided not to visit the child often.
We communicate over the phone, and always through brother.

Brother stays with us since its easy for him to manage his life (work, food, washing cloths etc), and SIL and her mom stays in the city where the hospital is. He visits them every now and then.

We have extended maximum financial support, and gave them the assurance that we are ready to sponsor in case the child needs any bone marrow transplant or foreign treatment or whatever.
So many friends, and close relatives are extending their fullest support both emotionally and financially to brother & family.

Though this seemed an unbearable tragedy in the beginning, we are sailing almost OK now.
Hope the child will come back to home during Christmas, and we will be able to celebrate this Christmas with light heart.

Your prayers matter, and kindly continue to pray for this little child and her parents.
