What is the best way to store passwords? If not on cloud etc. is it safe to write them down some place? Looking for some recommendations both technical and non-technical and easy access especially when traveling. Thanks.
Never write your passwords on paper, chances are that you may miss the paper and anyone can see it. It Its not at all recommended. You can use any of the password managers where you can store all your passwords which are stored in encrypted form. All you need is to just remember the main password to gain its access.
I use keypass, been using it for 10+ years. Very handy. I store both my work related and personal passwords in there. When I switch jobs, all I need is to take the .kdb database file, and can access the stored passwords. This is transferrable between windows, Mac OSes too. Cant recommend enough.
If you are looking for a free password manager, this url has a comparison for the free ones out there. Here is the PC mag article for paid password managers.
