Don’t stop bf. b milk turns to body tissue in very high percentage than any other food source. So it is true that bfed babies will eat less of other things. But bfing has life long benefits for lilone, from eyes, to brain, jaws, teeth, to bone, to less diabetes chance, to many other things
Don’t stop if you can BF
Many older women in villages used to take over the first born of their DIL. They used to bond with baby giving baby cow milk while mother slogged in kitchen. This baby was old age insurance for the MIL. And will have allergies and other health problems due to early introduction of cow milk. But this baby was close to MIL and SILs and not so much to the mother. The second baby was left to mother.
They used to discourage bfing telling that mother is lazy and she wants to just sleep and bf and not do house work.
Your MIL is following the above, old world style, wants a old age insurance.
Keep bfing and keep your first born close to you. Don’t waste your time in house work, instead bond with baby. Spend time with your baby till he/ she goes to preschool.
