MIL always complaints that I have become fat after delivery. I breastfeed my baby for which I have to intake some food which causes weight gain. The constant complaints just irritates me. Another complaint is since I breastfeed baby so baby is much attached to me and not them whereas they don't even care for baby. Just a vent...

Wear your baby in a saree, and go for walks.... if there is some clean air area in your neighbourhood. Your baby will also like that.

In one ear, out the other ear. Rinse and repeat as needed whenever your MIL starts giving gyan.

BF hormones stop you from loosing weight. Still reduce sweets, snacks and one roti subtract.
Eat vegetables, less fruits, dairy and a lil less Roti rice.
Eat non veg if you can. Take a multivitamin. Drink water. Drink warm water few times.
When your baby is toddler, you will loose a lot of weight. So don’t worry and let her talk
BF is definitely is making your baby close to you, good for you

Feel free to vent here , but also let MIL know it is utterly disrespectful to tell anyone ( let alone a new mother) that she is fat.

Tell her it’s normal and that you will lose it later on. What’s important is the baby right now, not your weight. I’m sure she had weight too.

Reply her directly not to interfere in your weight issue.Tell her that right now, your priority is your baby..

Don't worry.. Everyone will give advice to you as a new mom and judge you..Ignore them..You do whatever you feel is good for your baby.

MIL insists to give formula milk to baby. Always anything happens such as baby not eating solids etc. the complaint is due to breastfeeding baby is not eating anything. She is just jealous that baby is bonding with me well. She is herself a mother and when her sons are not leaving her side till date how is she expecting a 10 months old to not bond with the mother.

Yes she is also not lean and thin but always her comparison is with me. Like if someone tells her that she has put on weight then her answer will be " Have I become more fat than her(i.e me)". I am overweight still I do all works without hesitation still her complaint is " look she cannot get up after seating due to weight". Just fed up.
