It is said Pak is going to have acute water problem and for effective control of rivers they need to have Jammu & Kashmir and by hook or crook they want to annexe it to their Nation. A senior Indian Army man was telling this in a long programme in TIMES NOW channel between 11 and 1. I think it is repeated at some time to night .
If this is so, the abrogation of article 370 and annulling statehood seems to be strengthening the argument that move is strategic in best of times.
    Regards.

This gives a concise view about the Kashmir history.

"Dynastic politics " is a term that does not make sense in a democracy because ultimately the people are the arbiters. If they don't like a candidate never mind his dynasty, they will throw him by the wayside as happened to Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. Let us not worry about it. But divisive politicas is a matter of great concern The abrogation of 370 and 35 A are the outcome of the same communal mindset that engenders divisive politics.

    Hi Balajee,

    1) The Bill was presented in the Parliament and before any discussion, the Bill was passed.
    2) The Bill divided Kashmir into two union territories one with Legislature and another without it. Lt. Governors even when elected members are supposed to make decisions through passing bills, take directions from the Central Government.
    3) Since the legislature didn't exist at the time of Parliament decision, the local leaders elected by the constituents were not consulted in this decision.
    4) The Bill directly violates the Accession Agreement entered into in 1947 by the King of Kashmir without the consent of the people of Kashmir
    5) The compulsory acquisition of land in Kashmir is strictly prohibited under this Accession Agreement and investment from other parts of India can happen but only with the Kashmir people welcoming it.
    6) 25,000 troops were moved in to control the territory.
    7) Local leaders are kept under house arrest.
    8) Maharaj of Kashmir had an option to integrate with Pakistan or India and he chose India because of the Accession Agreement agreed by Sardar Valabhai Patel under these circumstances.
    9) If India feels the Kashmir Muslims are with India, why can't the Central Government ask them to elect leaders who will endorse that view and then change Article 370?

Will these actions increase or decrease terrorism? Will these actions motivate Kashmir Muslims to be united with India? How can we consider these actions as democratic?

Viswa I am afraid once the troops are withdrawn, terrorism will go up by leaps and bounds.Your questions are logical and they have been askew by many non-BJP leasers. But bigoted ears are deaf to reason.

Satchi, there is many a slip between the cup and the lip. Saying something is quite different from doing it. It is liker signing MOUs nmost of which remain unerealized . Even if there are investments, I doubt whether they will reach Kashmir valley but will focus on relatively safe grounds like Jammu and Ladakh/ Evem fpr tjat many roadblocks need to be cleared.

Agree, Balajee. Nothing happens immediately. We will just have to have an open mind and wait to see what happens.

    @Agathinai

Thank you for sharing it and it was wonderful history to know from this video. I always like visual more than reading a lot of pages. This video was very useful. J & K together has only a recent history post 19th century after the British rule. Given a chance, British would have given Kashmir to Pakistan but for the intervention of Sardar Patel. But since Kashmir accession, how many times the central government meddled with the ruling party in J & K? It looks like Muslims have been demanding Azhad Kashmir since 1980s with the backing of ISI. Now it is nearly 4 decades of struggle except that Indian military has become an expert in handling terrorism as opposed to not knowing it in 1980s. Therefore, once the curfew is lifted, the struggle supported by majority Muslims may begin again. With the Islamization that started several decades back, there is very little Kashmiris supporting India as they are convinced since 1990s, freedom struggle has started in many parts of the world for the well-being of the Muslims including in the Middle east, Soviet Union and Palestinian territories.

    .
It’s a fact and only time will tell what’s going to happen. We cannot be in curfew for long!
