@Rihana - I'm trying to forget the way GOT ended and keep it forgotten. I hope the book is different. I can't believe I binge-watched the entire show for this ending.
There are many fav movies, which I would want to forget and watch again. The recent favorite is Andhadhun.
Nice thread. On first read, I thought "sixth sense". Had gone for a late night viewing at the theatre and instead of sleeping, friends and I ended up recreating/dissecting the movie for the next couple of hours. However, if there was a mother of all movies, which I wish I could forget and watch it on big screen, it would be sholay. It was way before my times and by the time I ended up watching, I had probably seen different clips, spoofs, songs, etc. Even my first viewing ( watching in probably a 22inch black white tv ), I was too young to realize what a classic it was. People call it a western spaghetti, but it was more indian than any movie. Like dharmendra would say "is movie mein comedy hai, trrajedy hai, drrama hai". Years later, as watched, it all made sense. The opening is probably the best opening ever. The train sequence with Thakur, Jai and Veeru taking on Dakus. Who knew that after that heroic opening of Thakur, there was something hidden behind his gray shawl. Copied in so many movies after, I wonder how I would have felt watching the movie for the first time, without any of these thoughts hanging around. Asrani's: Hum, Angrezod ke zamane ke jailor hain Veeru's bak bak and Jai's terseness: Tumhara naam kai hai basanti. Jai's: Ab kya bataun mausi. Keesi ne hath pakad liya aur beta dhiya 100-200 chala jaatha hai. jooa yeh kambakhat jeez hai. ....to mein yeh shadi pakki samjoon. Veeru's: Mere 10 -12 bache honge. Voh jai chacha, kahani sunao na bolte tumhare aage piche ghoomenge salim chacha's: aaj poochunga khuda se, kyun mujhe aur char-paanch aulad nahi diye is gaon pe shaeed hone ko. Gabbar of course: Kitne aadmi they. Woh 2 aur tum 3. phir bhi vaapas aagaye. kya samajh ke ai, sardar khus hoga? sabasi dega? and jaya: contrast to guddi/mili and even her flashback in the end jai saying: Bas ek hi kami reh gayi. Tumhare bachchon ko kahani nahi suna paunga....and referring to jaya - yeh kahani bhi adhoori reh gayi.
I have been so tempted to start binge watching this. The only thing stopping me is the time investment. Having lost 160 hours twice, watching lost, I was on the fence for GOT ( oh ..... the media hype though ). But such feedback is helping avoid it.
Aaaha Rihana, you have come up with an interesting topic here for sure ! Pretty much all thrillers end up in this category , don't they . If the ending / twist is unknown , we could watch it again. immediately comes to mind is : Myna (tamil) , kuttrame dhandanai . I have to think more though for a longer list.
Movies I wish I could forget and watch again are Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Rockstar. I love both of them <3
