Relationship Hijack And Banter

All caps is yelling at the least. One should avoid all cap posts completely.

 

When I had gone to baptisms ( so many of them!!) in phoren, and the Priest/Minister goes on the memorized questionnaire about whether or not the parents/god-parents believe/do/not-do/yada-yada, I resist (frown/roll-eyes/hmmm..). The people who invited me are often extremely pleased that I had come, held the baby, and shook hands with the priest/minister, and then went home with them to eat some unusual foods. In this exchange of small effort for happiness, belief goes in the bin labelled "don't ask, don't tell".

 

If I think something, say something else and do something else altogether mostly and not occasionally to keep people happy, how do I find peace? Where is the truth in relationship? Are we that selfless to compromise our values and pride to please others? I don't see that happening in real life and not even in virtual world for forum etiquette.
