    Hello
My close relatives daughter who was a bright and good student developed schizoprenia 8-10 years ago after her father got diagnosed with heart disease(don't know if that is the reason).
But parents are now older and obviously weak because of heart disease etc etc. Even after giving her treatment and medicines and visiting psychiatrists they are unable to handle the daughter as she is becoming violent. What should they do? Relatives are not helping.

They are old folks 65-70 and cannot handle such issues at this time. All the other relatives who are ready to help have small kids and cannot handle the responsibilites due to the sake of children too.

What options do the parents have. It is dangerous for their health and well being too. She is a good natured girl who was outstanding at school but unfortunately she developed this issue. Please help as parents are in misery and cannot handle outbreaks.

This is something you should talk to a good and experienced psychiatrist. All I can say is admit her for treatment as this is not a small problem and needs lot of treatment

It's really a tough situation for the parents and for the girl. I'm guessing they're living in India where there is not much options of the treatment homes. so the best option would be to consult different psychiatrists .she needs lots of treatment and medication.

However painful it may be, the best option would be to get her admitted to a rehabilitation centre specialising in such treatment. This would be of help to the girl herself in the longrun, as old parents will find it extremely dificult to handle medication and other behavioural issues.

If they are living in the AndhraPradesh, they may consult Dr. Madhu Bindu, Neuro Psychiatrist, Siri Hospital, Ongole. She is a very good doctor. They also have rehabilitation centre.
