    Hi,
We are planning for a trip to Colorado.
Can anyone please suggest or share your experience. I’m really confused since there are lot of places. And since it’s winter worried about driving within Colorado due to snow as we have no experience driving in snow..

We were in Denver for 3+Years, there are lot of places you can visit. Since you are going in winter,do try some winter activities like tubing , snowmobiling n all.
If you want to try tubing go to Fraser , it’s very good. You can stay in Breckinridge area which is very near to Fraser. Even snowmobiling is nearby to Breckinridge ( it’s guided tour , you get to ride your own snowmobile and they will take you inside woods , it’s fun).
From Denver , Breckinridge is just 2 hours drive then if you drive one more hour you will get vail ( it’s beautiful mountain town), then comes glenwood springs and then Aspen , which will be 4 hours from Denver.
Mt Evans will be closed for the season but you can go to echo lake.
In all these places you will see lot of winter activities, you can choose where you want stay and plan accordingly.
Don’t forget to take winter clothes as it will be super cold up in the mountains also you might get bit of headache because of altitude.. which is totally normal.

Wow I always dreamt of staying there ... Thanks a lot for the reply...
I would love to take a train ride similar to Durango, which is the nearest place in Denver ? Durango is too far from Denver... And is driving safe in Colorado during December as we are not used to driving in the snow ?

Train rides are ok, I did not find it worth the money but if you really want to go , check pikes peak train ride or Georgetown which are hour distance from Denver.
Not sure about the driving , but every time it snows , they will clean the road immediately... it is not that bad.
Also do check Cheyenne mountain zoo, it is high altitude zoo

Hi. Even if snow melts, black ice forms
    That's what causes skidding.
    Places to visit
Rocky mountain national park and estes park
From Denver, hanging lake and Glenwood springs. Hot springs are unique to Colorado. Dont miss to soak in it.
