    Thanks!
I’m grateful. I do go into I’m so lucky modes sometimes. And I feel that way.
I also tell myself that I do deserve it all. It’s not like the gas tank is empty just like that. It’s empty because I ran both cars down with me driving my child to various therapies or going about my chores at home.

I’m also not sitting and twiddling my thumbs before going to India. I am making sure I do everything around here for an entire week so that they are ok. Now, I don’t do as much, just some basic cooking but initially I used to make every meal and podis and batters and meats and marinades and veggies etc.
I did all that and in the preoccupation forgot my OCI.

Reg the money, well let’s just say I forgot:grin::grin::grin:

Sometimes we do make a big deal when men do things and that probably makes others think it’s not the norm. I think we need to normalize the expectations. I’m sure we are all worthy of it.

I get what you mean .

Talking of forgetful....lost count of the number of times I have bungled up school tiffins.:relaxed:
Even my daughter's friends know about my forgetful ways.:(

Thankfully my husband and kids are considerate .:)

    Hi rags.
Tried learning bharatnatyam as a kid.
Gave up at the " bend your knees properly, feet straight line!!!!!!:rage:" stage.
Learnt a bit of kathak....it is a bit more forgiving for beginers.

As mentioned by @Laks09 [I also tell myself that I do deserve it all.], all the goodwill points accrue over time... and the consideration from others in the family for each one, is totally earned.

    Absolutely.
Husband tells me I am a very indulgent wife and mother...never really felt like that but I take it as a big compliment. All round appreciation and consideration for everyone.:beer-toast1:

It's true , it's the mother attitude that makes all the difference...

I remember how my mother coached me.. she would be after me to teach some basic cooking, but I would say' I'm busy studying mama, please don't disturb'. I would make her wait months to teach me...Then finally she tries to show me something, I will leave midway because it's so boring and I would rather study or whatever . Then one day I see same dish from net and want to try that instead of her recipe, but she will stand and support and laugh and eat my horrible dishes and appreciate the effort!

Yes I am not the best daughter , maybe too lazy that time, but now realised value of mother way of teaching .. the one who cleans up the mess without complaining, the one who eats the bad food without belittling my efforts, the one who teach me everything but never complain if after everything I go and make something from internet instead . Miss my mom coaching now that I'm married , and salute all moms:)
