Slow And Steady

    Hi all,

    There was a time when I was quite healthy and in-shape. But that seems so long ago. After 13 years and 2 kids, I don't even remember the healthy me that used to exist once upon a time. So here I am trying to lose weight -- And I need to lose a good 30 lbs.

    I started last Sunday. I initially weighed 185 lbs. Today morning I weighed 184.2 lbs. So that's 0.8 lbs in a week.

    I was eating okay and walking some most of the week, but after yesterday's lunch buffet and cerebration dinner, I was not expecting any weight loss at all. So I am glad for the 0.8 lbs though I would have liked a bit more.

    Here is my food and exercise journal for today. Feel free to share yours.
    Sunday
    8/12/2018

    Pre Bfast: 1 cup coffee
    Bfast: 4 Idlis + Onion tomato chutney
    Snack: 1 glass mango juice, 1/2 cup badam biscuits
    Lunch: 1 cup rice with vathal kuzhambu, yogurt and beans
    Snack: 1 cup ice cream
    Dinner: 1 cup cantaloupe

    Walking/Exercise: 20 mins
    Water: 8 glasses (incl 2 glasses hot water)

    WEIGHT 184.2 lbs

    Lunch: 1 cheese quesadilla & 1 veggie power bowl from Taco Bell
    Snack: 1 cup coffee (planned)
    Dinner: 1 cup cantaloupe (planned)

    Walking/Exercise: 20 mins
    Water: 8 glasses (incl 2 glasses hot water)

    Tuesday (Aug 15, 2018)

    Excellent day overall. Felt very light and active throughout the day.

    Pre-bfast: Coffee
    Bfast: 1 cup of cantaloupe + 1 veggie rava toast
    Snack: -
    Lunch: 1 cup brown with quinoa + 1/2 cup beans + 1/4 potato + 1 cup vathal kuzhambu
    Snack: Coffee
    Dinner: Banana + milk

    Exercise: 20 mins walking
    Water: 9 glasses

    Wednesday. Good day for the most part except for the Kitkat bar.

    Bfast: 1 slice pizza
    Snack: 1 bar of kitkat
    Lunch: 1 cup brown rice with quinoa + 1 cup spinach + 1 cup rasam
    Snack: 1 cup coffee, 3 cashew cardamom cookies
    Dinner: 1 bowl of cooked spinach

    Walking/Exercise: 20 mins
    Water: 8 glasses

    Thursday. Started out great, but got crazy with office party

    As soon as I woke up: Lukewarm water with lime and honey.
    Pre Bfast: 1 cup coffee
    Bfast: 1 cup of cucumber
    Snack: -
    Lunch: 1 veggie burger
    Snack: 1/2 piece of apple strudel, 1 cup Eegee's
    Dinner: 1 banana, 2 Khakras

    Walking/Exercise: 20 mins
    Water: 7 glasses

    Tomorrow is the weigh in day!! :cry:

    Friday was moderate. Dinner was not as disciplined as I would have liked. Rest of the day was great. Will update to you all tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

    Hello everyone!

    I just checked my weight now as it is Sunday. I currently weigh 182 lbs!! Last week I weighed 184.2 lbs. So this is a weight loss if 2.2 ls in 1 week. I am happy with this because some days last week I was super disciplined, and some days I wasn't. So I regard this as good outcome for sure.

    Here is a quick summary:
    Aug 19, 2018: 182 lbs (weight loss: 2.2 lbs)

    Aug 12, 2018: 184.1 lbs (weight loss: 0.8 lbs)
    Aug 8, 2018: 185 lbs

    Does anyone else care to join me on this journey? All women trying to lose weight and get healthy, please feel free to join in. Let's motivate and empower each other.

    Congrats for 2.2 lbs loss. Keep going. I will also update. Im currently 180lbs. From monday will update my day. Hope we both can reach our goal.

    Today Morning breakfast and lunch I had methi chapathi with curry moderately. However I had huge fight with husband so could not exercise and dinner I ate biryani to subside my anger
