When I saw those posts for first time I seriously thought someone is doing Automation Testing for IL . Ufff the Techie in me
Congratulations to the young man, and to all of you, Viswa. To Orion too. : ) Truly a great milestone. The love, pride, joy and happiness is palpable in your words. Felt so nice to read it. I recall your many posts on parenting. Many I have bookmarked mentally. One that often comes to mind is where you said how to talk with the child, how to get child to listen. IIRC, you said, "sit on the floor, make eye contact, hold the child's hands, and say ..." It is going to some week and weekend as you all celebrate the culmination of the hard work. : ) you know me right? I was actually imagining gears switching in your brain. : ) Like in that brain picture that often shows up in articles on AI or ML. Please convey my heartiest congratulations to your son and Mrs. Viswa. And best wishes for all his future ventures.
Oh yes, helps with teenagers too. Works in almost all situations. Anything that bothers or is unpleasant but does not deserve attention, "notice, label, acknowledge, let go". I read it first in a post by them who own the Spinach Parenting trademark. : )
Notice yes, label yes, ack perhaps, but how do I let go? need more tips from ya ^ ------------- Congrats to junior, Viswa
@Rihana, The best place to share my happiness is right here in IL among the friends who I have interacted with for years. With so many wishing and blessing Junior Viswa, I am sure he would cross many milestones. Hopefully our prayers will switch a gear in his brain to find his life partner while building his career. I will certainly convey your wishes to my wife and son. Viswa
@Viswamitra Sir, hearty congratulations to your son and to the proud parents. Hope you have a wonderful celebration
@Viswamitra - Please don't get upset, this has no bearing on you as a traveling Dad whatsoever! @justanothergirl My DH will say a lot of things like - we should teach the kids this/that/aise/waise and then he goes on this looooooong trip. And then when we are out and about, a random stranger stops me ask asks me if I'm Jr Laks' mom because she looks like me. DH promptly frowns, that slight contempt with his eyebrows which only I can notice. When the said stranger goes on and on about how compassionate, caring, loving JL is with her charges at wherever she is volunteering, Dad is grinning from ear to ear. Stranger also mentions she needs to seriously consider being a dr because of her compassion and have we thought about college etc. Dad pushes me aside, jumps in and promptly takes over. Thanking stranger, beaming when she says you've done such a good job with her, you must be a very compassionate Dad(I'm long forgotten) and discussing college dreams for over ten minutes, me standing in the BG wondering "He did all that....."! Such are Dads!!!!
