What Is Carpooling? Confused

    My understanding of carpooling is sharing costs.

    Eg1) same office scenario - if set of three people are there, with 3 cars each - each would take 1 week/10 days turn without sharing fuel cost.

    Eg2) same office- one drives the car and other share cost by monthly or weekly

    Eg3) same school scenario - mom/dad picks and drops school with sharing gas cost and takes turns with co-rider kids parents.
    Same applies for extra curricular activities too.
    Am I correct?
    Because I'm seeing people are egar for carpooling but won't take turns or share cost equally citing distance etc.
    How car pooling works here?

    They are just misusing u.

    If he/she has car ask them to pickup/drop. Or day/week wise turn. If don't have car they can still pay the person who rides.

    I stay on Edison , new Jersey. Fully Indian community... Here lots of ladies drive kids to playschool and activities for money. No car pool. They literally drive cpupco of kids for money and charge based on distance.
