How Do You Dress For A Vacation And How Much Do You Spend?

If you have noticed my threads I was asking abt vacations and we are finally booked to go to Maui!!am very excited!

I brought some clothes online some 5 or 6 within $100.I don't know if it is too much or less.some of the style I will wear only on a vacation and not on day to day wear.

1)am contemplating whether to return those clothes and go with normally what I wear..

2) Does anyone even shop for a vacation?or they wear what they have?

Just wanted to know ur vacation dressing style and how much you spend?just to ease my guilt

Don't feel guilty, if you have interest to enjoy dressing up and you have sources to do that , go for it.

For spending also don't feel guilty, you and family working hard to earn and you are taking care of stuff make make it all happen . Holidays are not there always, yearly one or two times. Enjoy and get refresh.
Going to other places is good to see other life styles and enhances ourselves.
When you can enjoy it. Just fix some budget and be within while shopping etc.

I too did shopping for vacation.

@anika, I have seen many people buy clothes for a vacation, esp tropical vacations and those on cruise. Do not feel guilty. Enjoy your trip and let us know all about it

don't feel guilty and enjoy. BTE, if you need to compare just to comfort yourself, 100$ is good enough for vacation clothings. Before we had our kid and I got disfigured, I liked dressing up and every vacation, new wardrobe for me. Maui is a great place.. Have fun.
Do take some evening dresses as there are evening events too. Pack alight sweater too as weather is unpredictable and can be cooling too smtimes.

Floaty summer dresses are great for the day. You should also carry something that can easily go from day to night, with the addition of a few accessories. Designer label Saloni is a great option, with its colourful prints. Dries Van Noten has beautiful scarf like prints. Pero is a lovely choice too. Actually, that's a really good budget- $100, especially for 5-6 items. That's less than $20/item. I think it's good to buy specific pieces for your vacation. You will have fun wearing them and the photos will look nice and fresh. Don't feel guilty, these small pleasures are worth it.

Also, it's more expensive to buy dresses at vacation places, if you need it for a dinner date or a fancy something. Might as well go prepared

It's definitely a deal $100 for 5 is really nice price.
We have to buy vacation dress esp in summer because we need good pics!!!!
Dressing appropriate to climate and place is needed.
Once in Ooty I saw a honeymoon couple with lots of gold chain heavy silk saree...it was a college tour for us imagine the couple's plight.
Get some cool sandals have a blast in Maui , happy Vacation.
