In our natural state, men and women are separate, different, yet equal.

There is one man for one woman and vice versa.

In recent past (within thousand years) we had unnatural wars that kept women suppressed and at home. Over many generations this unnatural suppression defines new roles for women, i.e. don't talk on your self-will, do ghunghat (cover face in front of men). The list goes on and on.

In past 50 years women are slowly reclaiming their rights. It may mean acting like a man by cutting hair super-short, wearing pants, etc just so they can endure the workplace.

Lot of other women believe dressing sexy, showing lot of skin makes them equal to men.

And their are those that believe sari represents oppression of women.

We will get to a point on again where women can embrace their feminity like Goddess Laxmi, Goddess Saraswati, and be on equal footing to men without acting like them.

Certainly these Giddesses are forces to be reckoned with!

Women have rights....what kind of rights are they? There is always lot of boundation with each right. I always think why at first she got agree to leave her home to make someone's home. She always had to suffer after that. She just leave her roots in a day and spend rest of her life finding a place to live.

In Mahabharata days women had opportunity to CHOOSE their husband from people who came to their homes.

Today women have no say, or parents give emotional blackmail (based on silly Indian serials anyway).

In ancient India Goddess Parvati had to do tapasaya to get husband of her choosing.

I dunno what this all means.

I guess women should have right to choose
    - whose last name they pick
    - who they surrender their body to
    - whose parents they have to take care of
    - whose child they have

Or maybe, they choose not to marry. EVER.

:hello:it would be nice to imagine in future world h by law or decree or legilation or otherwise, soon after the wedding menfolk should leave their parents and live rest of their life with spouse in her parents home. Celebration of thalaideepavLi with his parents allowed . This can save the menfolk from being blamed as Oedipus complexed.
    2. While for comfort, womenfolk can prefer to wear men's attire and for sake of change why men folk can't switch to lehangas or Salwar kurthi!!!!!!!!
    Regards.
God Bless emancipation of men And women.

Only some women get to live and dress up as per their wish.. There are still lots of restrictions in families from parents..only some husbands too are ok with windows dressing up modern.. Though times have changed and women are more free than before in terms of dressing and going to job still the society needs to go a long way to respect a women as a person and for her own personal space and freedom.

What is difference between women wearing sleeveless shirt with jeans vs sleeveless salwar kameez, or sleeveless saree blouse.

In one of these serials a girl was secretly video taped changing and video went viral. People blamed because she is wearing sleeveless shirts.

However, daughter of people blaming girl is wearing sleeveless salwar kameez.
