    Married for 9 years ... code bw us is still work in progress... too much interference from inlaws (mil , sil) ... we hardly talk when inlaws are arround....

    DH and I used to say ‘love u’ before we headed out on separate ways each day ... over time it changed to ‘luv u , miss u’ and after some more time it changed to ‘luv u, miss u, kiss u’ .. and got shortened to ‘lmk’.

    One day, DH manager send him and email about something and signs off with lmk. For some time DH was wondering how he knows about our secret codes and why he was saying them !!!!

    Of course , ‘lmk’ in real life stands for ‘let me know’ !! :facepalm:

    Okay ... DH may get mad about me posting this.. as it seems so private ...but I thought it’s cute and would like to share anyway .

    Your post made me laugh so much. It is not about a code word but my wife always calls me by my nickname no matter where I am. She forgets the surrounding always. She had called me in front of my colleagues, friends and even my mother. Unfortunately, it is not a nickname I can share here.

    Reading your first sentence I thought it is very private moment for you guys and thanked u in my heart for sharing here .
    immideately my eyes started running behind the words anxiously . I was also happy on the other side thinking at least few of the IL’s started showing interest in this thread and thought this thread will go bigger.

    Overall your post is good . It’s sweet but you raised my inner hopes dear. It’s like the half romantic gestures and scenes in our Indian movies
