My 70-something young Dad is facing health issues on several fronts.

Getting advanced in age doesn't mean person should expect poor health!

Past few days my Dad had terrible tooth ache that wasn't going away. It even robbed him of his sleep (he has insomnia otherwise).

Plus his skin was breaking out in red, big itchy rashes that we're getting worse.

Yesterday he was scheduled to see Dentist and then he called me at work to see if I can get appointment with another Dermatologist (the one we see is nice lady, yet need to schedule well in advance). He was in lots of pain and discomfort from the toothache and red, itchy rashes.

Luckily I got nearby Dermatologist. Rather humorless (think of "Curb your Enthusiasm"). Told him abou red, itchy rash and toothache happening around same time. Dermatologist diagnosed Dad's red, itchy rash as hives, due to tooth infection.

He prescribed antibiotics and said take for 10 days.

Straight afterwards we went to Dentist who sad Dad has very loose wisdom tooth. After signing consent form it too Dentist 5 seconds to pull loose tooth out.

We told Dentist that previous Dermatologist prescribed antibiotics. Still the Dentist prescribed antibotics (weaker than the one Dermatologist prescribed, plus pain killers).

Now I have to follow up with Dentist and Dermatologist to clarify certain things.

Monday at office I had terrible nervous feeling at work.

Tuesday I was too stressed and sick to go to work.

Then yesterday Dad thought his days were numbered and was worried how I would survive. Things at job are shaky for another few months and he's worried I'm not married (he doesn't have strength to pursue matromonial alliance the way he did several years back)

I'm just glad my Dad is on the path to recovery right now.

Still a bit shaken up though

    Dear,
I can understand your feelings in the light of your father's condition. Glad that he is on the road to recovery.
Be brave and take care of yourself as well as your DAD, and this phase will pass soon.

Thank you so much! I pray he had long, happy life.

Oh goodness, you are right. I pray for strength continuously.

Me too. Having nice husband would certainly enrich life and help lighten the load on things.

    Dear OP,
I will pray for well being of your father. You are abroad right, and 70 something like early 70's is not that old age in US. Infact even people in India in 70s are doing well.
Am in US and feel doctors are very good, even the medicines and treatment is good here. so your dad should be feeling very confident about his health and have no doubts.
Put him on a very good healthy diet. lot of mental support.
