Who is the comment addressed to?

Is it to your DH? "YOU have become thin."
OR to you? "HE has become thin."

If the comment is to your DH, then it is none of your concern. Mom-son are fake-talking, move out of earshot.
If the comment is to you, then Divert / fake-talk. "Oh ma, I was just thinking, YOU are looking weak. Are you eating healthy / taking tablets on time / getting sufficient fruits?"

She needs this to be happy. What a miserable woman. Let her eat it. It not even worth responding, when you don't react or when you respond calmly you see the irritation on their face LOL. You just get through the visit and count down the days. 1 day down 7 to go. In my case it was my SIL & FIL games, not my MIL.
