My list might age me a bit, but I started watching dramas back in college -10 years ago. I wasn't too picky and tried all languages. J-dramas: Gokusen - this is based on a manga, no explicit romance but full comedy about a female teacher with a troublesome class of boys Hana yori Dango - based on the famous manga, and my preferred version of F4. Romantic comedy Stand up!!!- comedy, slice of life of school boys Nobuta wo produce- friendship, slice of life Kurosagi- action, revenge Kimi wa petto- older woman, younger man- it's different but well played twdrama: Mars - very old, but this is an amazing love story. Tearjerker and romantic Meteor garden - it's hana yori Dango in Chinese- it was ok for me, but many people enjoyed it Smiling pasta - super cute romantic comedy Magicians of Love - very funny and cute romantic comedy Fated to love you - I liked this, by it was a slow romance Hanazakarino kimitachihe - girl dresses as boy to join school - rom com Kdrama: Full house - cute, rom com. 2 people stuck in the house together Goong - the best (first kdrama I watched) - prince and a civilian girl The first shop of coffee prince - the real best show ever- accidental cross dressing, leading to weird circumstances and romance My lovely Kim Sam soon - my close 2nd You're beautiful - older, less attractive woman and younger richer man, but so much crazy in between Jumong - period drama, but the BEST one Hwang jini- period drama Duelist (movie) - beautiful fighting movie- very stylistic and symbolic 1% of anything - cute, kind girl meets rich boy Sweet 18 - arranged to marry by grandparents but they end up falling for each other even if they live in different worlds Personal taste - stuck as housemates Faith - time travel, drama romance
Whoa, that's alot. My daughter and I both liked Boy's Over Flowers, hopefully I can find the Japanese F4s in Crunchyroll I think Kdrama's Fated To Love You is much better than Twdrama's version.. the male actor is also older and sexier. For Mainland Chinese dramas, so far, I've only seen All Quiet in Peking, Ice Fantasy, and Empresses in the Palace. Any recommended Chinese dramas that have less than 30 episodes? Right now, I'm watching some Turkish series: Baba Candir and Ertugrul
I don't think Hana Yori Dango is on crunchyroll anymore But it's definitely worth searching for. It was better paced than the Korean version. Fated to Love you (twdrama) got boring and slow after the first couple of episodes. I should try the kdrama version. I think I have a typo about 2 of the dramas: My Lovely Kim Sam soon - Older woman, younger man You're Beautiful - cross-dressing girl, singer, in a boy band
