Thanks all. I was looking for a simple sentence that is short yet actionable. Something like 6-8 words.

Most of your answers were quite helpful.

The only problem with my sentence is that it only talks about commitment to others. What about commitments to yourself?

Question. If I had an intention to do X and if I procrastinated and didn't do it, does that counts against me?

If work ethic is passionate, nothing like it

To be a good team player and not to equally be a good individual....
Having a healthy environment by teaching one another and uplifting..

Work ethics for me is work for something like it is yours not like it belongs to you, commitment with enthusiasm!
It is the best thing and to keep a follow-up makes it a better one and thereby outcome will be the best!

Work is worship. According to my perception sincere, diligent, hard work along with respectability, and accountability should be work ethics.

Hi @girvani, I agree we must work for the growth of the company which is paying for our bread. But that doesn't mean you should neglect your growth. You should balance the both with dedication.

    Dear @VaishaliYadav,
I agree totally. Thank you. Personally, I have seen lots of egostic struggles and battles between individual staff which deteriorates their promotion and eventually company's growth. Especially, during this downturn in the oil industry, while many people are getting redundant it is obviously seen . I have always believed and taught, if you give your best and have your personal growth plan and then at some point it will be recognized and you will move forward. It might not be during the time frame that I would have wanted but it will happen. I always have my personal growth plan and I always worked/working towards that but at the same time overall success is important too.

    Jey,

We had the following tagline in the public company we worked for and see whether it works:

"Unyielding focus on ethical discipline and professional excellence"

    Dear Jey,
If we had an intention to do something for the good of others and openly spoke about it, but due to procrastination failed to do it on time it will spoil our reputation.

Jey, is this dilemma related to being an owner/entrepreneur and having nobody to report to (not meeting commitments to others but as owner) or really personal commitments?
