Lekha opened the door at once and smiled.

Her Amar….He is back….she was feeling too happy…..Her happiness was beyond words. That was a very big surprise for her.

As she smiled at Amar, she heard some one’s anklet jingling near the main gate and she looked towards it. It was Sharon.

Sharon was dressed in a plain chiffon saree. Kumkum on the forehead, a small black beaded chain on her neck. She was even wearing toe rings.

Lekha kept looking at her. Her mind was blank. Amar kept looking at Lekha's reaction and Lekha kept looking at Sharon.

That was the first time Lekha was seeing a foreigner cladded in Indian attire. Sharon’s glass bangles were jingling and Lekha looked at Amar finally.

“Lekha……” – Amar hesitated.

Sharon came and stood beside Amar.

“We both like each other…..so…..we got….” – Amar was about to finish and someone opened the main gate.

A guy dressed in a faded blue jean and a red t shirt came in.

“Amar…I Informed him. He is coming with his family” – he said waving at Amar.

“By the way…Did you introduce my girl to Lekha?” – he said and both Amar and Sharon bursted into a big laugh.

Lekha and the guy stood puzzled and Amar hugged Lekha at once.

Lekha couldn’t understand anything.

He kept kissing on her cheeks and the others smiled at them.

“Hey…” – Lekha pushed him slightly.

“You never know how much he missed you” – Sharon said with a smile.

Lekha looked at Amar and he said “That’s a lie! I didn’t miss you”.

Lekha looked at his eyes. His Love for her was evident. Those same eyes. Lekha smiled.

“By the way! She is my girl friend Sharon and we both are getting married this month” – the guy looked at Lekha

“Oh!!! Congrats! But she is wearing toe rings, kumkum..” – Lekha once again looked at Sharon who appeared to be married.

“Ha! She started liking everything about being Indian and she wanted to wear everything now itself” – the guy laughed.

“Ok guys! You people carry on! I need some private time with my darling” – saying this Amar closed the door and pulled her in.

“Enjoy!! You selfish fellow” – the couple laughed and moved away.

Lekha stood still. She was still confused.

Amar hugged her tight.

“I know my darling is quite confused!!! Will clarify everything now” – Amar leaned on the wall and she stood facing him.

“Actually….when I tried skating, I fell down and……” – Amar

“Fell down…Are you ok?” – Lekha looked at his legs and touched it at once.

“Wait wait. I know you cant bear….thats why didn’t tell you…” – Amar

“What…what happened…” – Lekha was restless

“A small surgery. A titanium screw has been fixed.” – Amar

“What?!!! Surgery?!!! You didn’t tell me anything?” – Lekha’s eyes were getting wet at once.

“I know you will become like this…..nothing to worry. Am completely fine.” – Amar continued.

“Sharon’s dad is a surgeon. He took care of me completely. I was at his home” – Amar

“That’s why she was always with you?” – Lekha asked keeping a straight face.

“Yes! I very well know you didn’t like that and you were upset about it” – Amar

“Then?!! Will I be happy?” – Lekha

“But why didn’t you tell me?” – Lekha

“just that I got fever, you didn’t sleep well. Kept calling me without sleeping properly. If I say that I am being operated, will you be at peace? Will keep thinking about me….I really didn’t want you to lose peace. I want you to explore Lekha….” – Amar

“Not convincing…” – Lekha sighed.

“Fine. One small surprise….” – Amar smiled

“What?!!!” – Lekha

The calling bell rang and Lekha’s friend has come with her husband and her kids.

“My friend has come!!! Will introduce you” – Lekha opened the door.

The moment she opened, the men hugged each other and Lekha stood puzzled.

“Confusion na?” – Amar winked at Lekha.

"Remember? When you came to drop me in airport, I was getting emotional and you were waving your hands happily at me.?"

“Yeah…so?” – Lekha made the kids to sit on the sofa.

“I was waiting to board the aircraft. By then this idiot texted me saying he is shifting to Hassan! He is my college mate by the way…” – Amar continued.

“I requested him to search for a house near to us so that you will have someone. Luckily he got one.” – Amar said and Lekha’s eyes popped.

“But you could have told me na.!!! It would have been easy for me” – Lekha

“I want you to go out and mingle with people. I didn’t want to spoon feed you” – Amar

“Youuuuu….you are not my friend anymore….could have told me na” – Lekha pinched her friend and she giggled.

“I arranged in such way so that I can give you this small surprise” – Amar smiled and Lekha stood still with happiness.

All of a sudden, she felt everything turned up so well and her life was beautiful again.

Just beautiful? She felt herself powerful, bold and strong. It was a bold and beautiful combo.

They all had a nice time and soon Lekha and Amar were left alone.

“Lekha….Next month again I need to go back.” – Amar looked at her eyes keenly

A tint of disappointment….which was covered up with a smile…..

“Ok. No problem. I got used. Moreover I have my friend na” – she smiled.

“Even you are coming with ne…” – Amar smiled and Lekha couldn’t believe

“What?” – She looked at him.

“Yes.! We both are going……” – Amar smiled

“I will initiate the visa process. You need to come alone. I will be going a week before you. You can come alone na?” – Amar asked and Lekha smiled.

“Transit is in Dubai….Can manage? Its too big…” – Amar

Lekha smiled… Only she knows what all faced …and what all changed her…..

Transit…?!! A big deal? – She smiled.

“I will come! No problem” – Lekha smiled and Amar hugged her tight.


Lekha: Girls…he came back…too happy am…..Such a big surprise....Seems next month we both are travelling….

Rathna: What?!!! Very happy for you dear…..no words….

Sandhya: Wow!!!!

Lekha: Feel like telling to Jaanvi….

Rathna: Don’t know when she will come

Jaanvi: Am here…..

Sandhya: Hey you cheat…..when did you come….

Jaanvi: just now.

Rathna: Are you ok?

Jaanvi: Yes. Mom has fixed a guy for me. Today evening his family is coming home. He is into software. His name is Venkatesh.
