Can We Learn Tailoring By Self?

    Hello friends,

    I want to try stitching as my next hobby so I just want to know if this machine, Usha Janome Dream Stitch is okay for begineerS? I didnt attend any classes, I just want to practice on this and learn stitching.

    Will it be possible to learn by self? I want this as my hobby

    Of course you can. I learned cutting n stiching by myself, from YouTube. Now I stich all my salwar sets and baby frock.

    Yes.You can do. There are many tutorials. sewing practice sheets will be there. Initially you can try that to practice machine well. Me too did self learning only.

    kay.. my machine will cme next monday :) am so excited. I will try all basic things first so that I understand the machine.. so many tutorials naa :)

    Before machine arrives, download or bookmark the related tutorials. Take print out of basic sewing sheets. Buy the accessories needed for tailoring.

    Even my first machine is janome alluring usha. I bought it in 2009 and even though I bought a new heavy-duty machine, usha is my darling.

    You definitely can learn stitching on your own. I learnt it myself watching my mom stitching over the years and now I stitch my kids dresses and my chudidhars and kurti. You can go through the videos on youtube or go through some good sewing books. You can start with basic stiches and keep practicing until you get to know the sewing machine well. Then you can start with small projects for home. Good Luck :)

    can learn stitching by you tube... i hav tried many from youtube tutorials by using the traditional sewing machine... now would like to switch to new one... need help on choosing a good one..
