    @Anisu summer holidays over?? Nice combo with dosa.

    Just had whole black urad kitchdi with different pickles and curds.

    And had to log in to say that i see 7000 replies and 701 page and it kind of brings a smile..no wonder i come back to this thread everyday..

    My physio is a czech lady and she talks sweetly while she tries to pop my spine:p i know what you girls think."she is talking about it as if they are poping corn"" lol believe me she produces sound from my spine just like knuckle pops..

    And she was asking me you fast for ramdaan i said no and then the discussion went on to being vegetarian and how she cannot wrap around my not eating eggs and how do i survive without eating anything other than vegges..and she asked if it was like this movie she saw about the mathematician.. took me a second to recollect our dear ramanujam. Then she told me how ahe loved phaaneer the cow cheese that is amazingly firm and makes a great dish and also the spicy chick pea with its sauce. Finger licking good. how she relishes the lentil soup which i think was the dal..:blush:

    @damini , :clap2:. Congratulations to all of you. But, I am the first in line for a spoon of badam halwa. Please send it across :). Yummy halwa. Please do share the recipe as my mom always keeps cribbing that i do not go beyond making payasam and kesaribath for festivals :). I shall try this out and surprise her.

    @damini - Splutter some fennel and curry leaves in oil, saute the onions, add the grated yam with a tsp of thick tamarind paste to get rid of, what do you say..that rankling/pricking sensation in your tongue ;) some yam taming is done by soaking in buttermilk or dilute tamarind extract for 30 mins..whichever works for you.
    Then goes some chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt..let it cook slowly until done..add grated coconut in the end..katham :)
