    Hi friends,
I'm organizing my kid's 3 bday at my home, at late evening 6.30 pm ( it's a weekday). Arranging a dinner party.
Around 30 people are expected and 4 kids.
I'm the only person going to cook.. veg chopping by my husband.
Pls help in planning to finish of the chores by 5 pm. And get ready to host the party.

    The menu is
    1. Gulab jamun (MTR one)
    2. Veg biryani or fried rice
    3.Raitha
    4. Pav bhaji
    5. Home made pizza
    6. Chips ( store bought)
    7. Ice cream (store bought)

And I'm wondering what should I make for starter....
Since I'm the only person to cook, it should be easy , tasty and best appetizer

    My mind revolving around
Chaat items to Gobi Manchurian to masala vadai to ragda patties to samosa...All food blogs..
Pls help me in deciding...The starter.
    Thanks in advance

Get some ready made cocktail samosas from the Indian store. Put them out with tamarind and mint chutney. Khaman dhokla or idli manchurian if you like them.

If it is cold on that day, you could even make a tomato/sweetcorn soup, and not have a starter.

If it is warm outside, you could include jaljeera, masala chaas.

In fact, your original menu is just enough even without starter.
Cut your pizza into smaller squares and not slices, and put them in place of starter.

You can make baby corn manchurian or vegetable cutlets or potato pakora or just bring some nans and make paneer butter masala..
For vegetable cutlets u can prepare the vegetable mix even 2 or 3 days before and refrigerate it and use it on the day needed( for this I follow manjula's recipe for YouTube)
For potato pakora u don't have to make any stuffing and all...just have to slice the potatoes and dip and fry.so it's easy.
For paneer butter masala u can make the ingredients needed before 2 or 3 days and just have miX them all with the spices.
    Hope this helps

Since most of the guests r adults. Pani Puri is a very easy starter. U buy d puri packet, boil potatoes and / or chana n add some spices. Then water, u even get the ready made powder to which u can jus add water. Or u can chek for some easy recipes. Optional: Raw onion / coriander leaves or any topping u want. Kids munch on the puris. Guests can assemble n have it themselves. It's fun too.
