Code to balance a binary search tree after a transcontinental flight..you must be kidding me. This insane.
Oh god what's happening so it's scary to go vacation n return back to usa.. Software engineer asked to write program. Author questioned and humiliated . I wonder where this is all heading to.
Sure, I've read the stories about Amartya Sen, Sharukh Khan et al, but an older, female, Caucasian, Australian writer & frequent flyer, here for an award? Haven't come across many accounts of those, definitely not written as powerfully. The only other similar article I recall is this one: Why I will Never, Ever, Go Back To The United States by a visitor from the Netherlands. In any case, it is not the event per se that interests me, but the emotion, the tears, the feeling of helpless humiliation and the overwhelming anger - not to point out flaws in poorly trained border personnel, but to remind myself to be very mindful of how I treat others.
How about the former prime minister of Norway? Kjell Magne Bondevik, ex-Norwegian Prime Minister, questioned over visa - CNN.com He was detained because his passport had an Iranian visa. You'd think the diplomatic passport would have tipped them off!
Forget immigrants and visitors, I was asked to step aside and come through the immigrant line for "more questions" at dfw. The Caucasian lady ahead of me was asked to go ahead. Random pick This was just before the elections. I wonder what's in store for me now. My DH is routinely harassed for extra security checks. Having an American passport makes no difference if you are the wrong color.
I have one question... We are all scared ..and very scared ok BUT we cannot live this way.. Back in India despite problems and lots Of it,why didn't we worry much about politics?our politicians are no less either. Yet it did not stop us from Enjoying life and doing other things but here it is very stressful in an advanced country... How do we get over this?or maybe am the one who is tensed..how to get over this and relax.Nothing can be done..
We dont worry because we were born there. Our grandparents and great grandparents lived there. Everyone are brown. Even Muslims/ Christians/Parsi are a shade of brown. We can't get over this- coz we can't change our skin color and pretend to be someone, who we are not. We just have to be unified. *make more friends * Don't overthink every small situation * stop reacting to everything on media. *If someone abuses you in public/ private just walk away. *be alert and be cautious.
