Looks like this FA's mother-in-law is a nice lady. Just talks a lot, and gets under the skin of the daughter in law, perhaps, just for kicks. This DIL gets provoked easily, and that gives the MIL some kind of entertainment and joy. They need TV with gadzillion desi channel subscription during the visit.

Until the DIL learns a different behavior, or finds ways to provoke the PIL's (after all, she does not want their relationship anymore) to drive them away for good, she'd have them under her skin.
Always speaking in inglees, going weird on PIL's when hubby is at work (making sure that she is not being video taped on smart phones), and making godawful tasting food are good strategies.
