Try JP palace, its a nice hotel. The breakfast spread is also good.

As for visiting, mysore zoo, palace, there is one boating lake (forget the name), a sand museum, A wax museum, Chamundi temple, Ganapati Sachidananda Swamiji Ashram( There's a birds zoo and bonsai garden there).

Also don't miss the mysore mylari dosa. And shop sandal , silks, jasmine and mysore pak:)

    Enjoy your vacation:)

Balmuri falls, karanji kere are decent places to visit, but they are not must see places.
    Rangathittu has a bird sanctuary.
If there are kids in the gang they might enjoy Happy man park - 3 kms from the railway station. This has mini zoo apart from regular play area.
Mysore city from chamundi hill in the night is a good sight to witness
Chinese food from Mezzaluna in Gokulam area is great
Try sweets from Mahalakshmi sweets - on Devrajurs road or vontikoppal - either are great.
JP palace food - breakfast and lunch/dinner buffets are awesome.
Gayathri Tiffin Room, Nalapak, Authana Restaurant, Shri Santhi Sagar, Mahesh Prasad are all great places fro breakfast
Kalidasa road in Jayalakshmipuram has fairly good restaurants like Anima Café, Madhva Bhavan, Green leaf, Tao. Shawarma at Casino park and Lemon Tree crowd favs.

If you want budget restaturants then green leaf is good too.
If you have Infosys friends - ask them to book you in for a tour of Infosys. Its worth it.
