Chapter 17

Parineeta looked at Anushka as why she stopped talking. She looked at the direction where Anushka was looking & stood up from her seat in shock.

Anushka got up from her seat & started walking to the person. That person seemed noticed Anushka & handed over the bill amount to waiter. Without waiting for change, he walked fast away with the girl who was accompanying him.

Anushka couldn’t understand his behavour & stood there looking at his direction. Parineeta made her sit down.

Anushka was sitting with blank face. She was still not able to believe whatever she saw just now was reality or dream? Parineeta paid their bill & they walked near a park. There Anushka couldn’t control herself & tears gathered in her eyes started flowing. Parineeta consoled her & allowed to open up.

The guy in the restaurant was Rohit. Anushka’s love!

Three years back while doing her MBA internship Anushka met Rohit. Their friendship blossomed in love. Once started working both of them decided to inform their parents. Mahesh was happy for Anushka. It was Rohit’s father who didn’t approve their relationship. They threaten him to break the same else they will severe all ties with him. Rohit succumbed to his parents wishes & stopped calling, meeting Anushka.

When Anushka went to confront Rohit she learnt that Rohit joined a MNC in Mumbai. Anushka tried every possible way to contact him but without success. Later she came to know from Rohit’s friend that he got married to a girl chosen by his parents.

Anushka sobbed heavily. Parineeta realized it’s getting late, called an auto & first dropped her at home & then went ahead.

Anushka entered home. After refreshing she went to bedroom & sat there like a statue. She didn’t know when Janaki came & left. Adish saw her sitting alone but didn’t bother much. He browsed laptop for sometime & then had dinner.

It was 10.30 pm. Anushka was still sitting quietly. She came in senses with loud noise of TV. With irked face she got up from bed. She felt her head very heavy. Her legs started shivering as she walked two steps. Suddenly she started moving her head.

That time Adish entered bedroom & saw her shivering. He was shocked to see her shivering.

“Anushka” he yelled & ran. He managed to hold her tight. She was shacking continuously. Adish made her lie on bed & touched her head & took back his hand. Her body temperature was increased. Suddenly Anushka rolled her eyes.

“OMG”. Adish took the water bottle kept beside his bedside & poured some water on her head. He holds her close & lightly patted on her head.

Slowly Anushka stopped shivering. With half opened eyes she looked at him & hugged him tightly. Her energy couldn't last for long & she fainted in his arms.

Her soft touch kindled Adish. He experienced the warmth in her touch for the first time. He caressed her back & again made her lie on bed. Wiped her face while she was still lying unconscious out of high temperature.

Next moment he called Vedant who told him to bring her immediately at Jupitor Hospital.

Adish hung up the call. That time Anushka’s phone rang displaying Parineeta’s name. Adish thought to inform her so that she can help him. He answered the phone & asked her to reach hospital.

Adish lifted Anushka & put him into car. As it was night time nobody noticed him. Adish didn’t inform Swanand as they will get tensed. He drove fast.

Anushka was taken to casualty section. Adish stood there rubbing his hands.

After some time on duty doctor informed Vedant that Anushka is having high fever & her BP gone low, that’s why she was fainted. They have started treatment & soon she’ll be fine.

Vedant conveyed the same to Adish. Adish felt relieved. Vedant said” You bring her here in right time Adi. Don’t worry.”

A: Ved she was shivering nonstop & rolled her eyes before fainted. I just remembered how mom went through the same when she was ill & we couldn’t …….” His eyes were moist.

Ved patted on his back.” No Adi don’t think about the past now. You sit here .I will go & check with Dr. Shruti.” Saying he went to casualty ward.

Adish waited outside the corridor. That time Parineeta reached there. Adish stood up seeing her. she was heavily breathing & asked about Anushka.

A: Doctor said she has high fever & it seems her BP gone low, she fainted.

Parineeta face turned tense. She insisted to see her. Adish took her to C ward. Parineeta couldn’t see her like that. A nurse came & asked Adish to meet Doctor. Anushka was slowly regaining consciousness. Anushka saw them with half opened eyes. She smiled seeing Pari & slept again as medicine’s effect. Parineeta then went out of ward.

Adish recalled that Anushka was quiet since evening. He thought Parineeta might know something. He asked” Parineeta she was looking upset since she returned home. She also skipped her dinner. Do you know anything? I mean did she speak to you anything?”

P: (thought this the right time to open his eyes & make him realize to understand her) Adish did you both fight yesterday?

Adish didn’t expect this question.” No ,I mean not that serous” He stammered.

P: I knew it. Anushka told me everything when she met me today evening.

That time Vedant come there. Parineeta didn’t notice him as she was back facing him. He gestured him that Anushka will recover soon.

P: she was very upset because of you Adish. When we were discussing this suddenly we noticed Rohit in the same restaurant.

Adish gave puzzled look upon hearing Rohit’s name.

P: I know you’ll be surprised; Rohit & Anushka were in love three years back.

A: (shocked) Whaat?

P: whatever you heard is right.

Parineeta narrated everything happened in past. Adish after listening to it felt a deep pain inside his heart. Vedant too felt sad. Parineeta wiped her eyes & requested him not tell her anything. Adish promised the same.
Adish met Doctor who informed him that Anushka’s condition is improving now & they will keep her for two days under medication. He gave him prescription.

In the meantime before leaving Parineeta once again meet Anushka. She was now fully awake. Parineeta didn’t allow her to speak much & gently patted on her cheeks, also assured to come on morning.

Parineeta came out to take Adish’s leave. This time she noticed Vedant with him & surprised as she didn’t at all expected him there. She waved bye to Adish & started walking.

“Parineeta, one minute” Adish suddenly said seeing time. With a questioning look Parineeta turned to him. Adish said” Its already 12.30 am, please don’t go alone. “

Adish turned to Vedant & said” Vedant you also leaving na? Then please drop her first.”

Vedant was internally happy but Parineeta felt nervous as she always used to avoid guys
