A slow middle of the week... idle mind not devil's workshop.. but a thought came to such mind anyway - Karma is a beautiful thing. Almost as basic as gravity, as noted by a contemporary Buddhist wise-man/teacher.
From the 'I tried' folder -- Took Rihana ji's advice on being more vulnerable to increase bonding. The result - Ouch!! But there is a positive side to it. I know exactly where to draw the line now. : )
Thanks to @Rihana and another friend who suggested me to pen a poem for my little one, designed a birthday card with hand-written poem !
Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail. Be a self starter - I like this. This is my positive of the day.
Where is all these talks happening? Rih ji now heads a new 'genX only' club or something?? What did I miss in my absence?
There are times when you finish a book and you feel like scrambling to the roof top to beat your chest and say aloud, "I finished this book" In a more excited state, you may feel like swooping from that roof top and descend on unsuspecting commuters and hard sell this book. Then, you also wish that your friends and their neighbours and their pet cats and those cats' feline girlfriends should also read this book. When you are drained by such unsolicited and enthusiastic propaganda, you come to IL and write an unremarkable post in the positive thread that says - "You must read this book" There are few books that bolt me to cry aloud: "Wow! Such beautiful concepts explained in lay terms" When I read such books, I almost cry from the incredibility that surrounds us!
(cont'd) KV remarks that I usually get excited and thrilled with all the books I read. I vehemently deny that. "I didn't like Good Earth by Pearl S Buck" "And .. ", he drawls. "But Wind in the Willows is awesome. Princess Bride is every girl's guide book. Yesterday's Damsel in Distress by P.G Wodehouse is so cute. Terry Pratchett's Mort is funny! Dr Jekyll and My Hyde is incredible. Today's May I quote you on that is splendid" "Do you ever consign any books to 'nice' , "good', 'okay'?" I think for some time (these days I'm thinking twice before answering) "But then The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt kid is so sweet" "Go on .." , he smiles.
