@rossie That is a very toxic environment indeed and I see ur dilemma since ur boss is the idiot in question. No matter where u work..there will be some amount of scapegoating. A good boss is supposed to shield his/her team from that. Anyway ...if ur company is more like a mom-pop shop with a bunch of friends and family running amok ..nothing much can be done. Document ..esp sexist comments like You come across very bold.. you should be submissive as a lady. Mexicans do not like strong women. The guy is a confounded idiot since he made a racist and sexist comment all in one go. If possible make him repeat it and see if u can get a witness when he says that. The truth is HR underneath all that facade is always on the side of the company very rarely on the side of the employee. Their job is to protect the employers a** and a lawsuit.A lesson I have learnt over the years. What u can do is arm urself well. And in this situation ...move on. Best wishes and hang in there.
Thanks for your Kind words JAG. Every single person at the higher management use F's and B's like it is next to normal. If it happens to be a lady they swear calling her a B*tch. Very toxic environment indeed. Already floated my resume. Just a right opty and I will run away
@rossie we have a long way to go...the more I see the longer the path seems.... Leaked Apple emails reveal employees' complaints about sexist, toxic work environment
Can colleagues track a woman's period without her consent? If discussing 'relationships' at work, with men, expect to hear opinions like woman should not talk back. And don't burst into tears on hearing such opinion. I had a very opinionated boss who openly said, 'My wife goes to bed first, and warms it up. That is her job. Then, I join her.' He was also the most flexible about moms who wanted WFH and 'leave early log in from home' option.
@Rihana Jerk! The devil in me wonders if this is because he inherently feels home is a womans priority so her do her job first !
