 surely I'd be done for! Fortunately I've had the sense to use it out of earshot always - at least until now. In public, i mean. I did once say it aloud when the husband was messing something up, misreading instructions - was more trouble than it was worth because I had to sit and explain what it meant and that rather diluted the intensity of my annoyance.:tongueout:

Mean, I know and I'm not trying to justify the meanness. Just saying that's the phrase that pops up in my head instead of something like stupid though it's not one of my primary languages.

Embarrassing but interesting story about the cop! Sometimes our lot could casually be extremely non-PC! Not nice at all. I agree

Don't take that stout line for lack of excitement on your moderator investiture.
This calls for bigger celebration! Something more colorful and joyous!
I've tinkled my Doodly tutor to salvage my rusting sketching skills to knock up something (if time permits)

    Since you ask nicely... :yum:

Fireflies in Japanese culture are a symbol of passionate love in Haiku poetries, also a metaphor for sacrifice in war. They have yearly firefly festivals too. Check pics / videos in youtube, very magical!

There is this popular song about Fireflies, holds a very special place in my heart.

(In Japanese the firely is called "hotaru")

(I will try to find the original Japanese version, if anyone is interested.)

    Translated Song (source :web)

    Delerium - Euphoria (firefly)

    And how I've loved
    And I have served
    And I have sinned
    But I have learned
As long as you are true to the life that you live
This is the time to feel love

I feel a stirring deep within
    Slowly picking up momentum
Like the tide coming into shore
Over and under in it's course

    This feeling emblazed inside
    Every nerve like a firefly

    Hovering above me
    glow glow glowing divine

    every nerve like a firefly
    every nerve like firefly
    this feeling emblazed inside
    every nerve like a firefly

    I never want to loose
    what I have finally found
    There's a requiem
    A new congregation
And it's telling me go forward
and walk under a brighter sky
every nerve glowing like a firefly.

Also, fireflies are the closest to something real, a fantasy can ever become for me. :)

I think it's the ease of comfort the member feels using their real name in public forums. Half the people I talk with here know my full name (some trolls too!!) but they still go by 'kaniths' or 'K' anytime. :) I have to acknowledge my real name usage, which in any case, a big NO! :)
