hi op you did not write much about your prev job experience or skillset and qualification and also location. Yes, It is very difficult to get back to work after a long break. It can be disappointing and disheartening too as it usually takes some time to get a closure and its demotivating to deal with questions related to break. But good news is women do that a lot and giving reason as "kids care" is considered perfectly valid. It may not land you a job though. So before job searching, make you mind ready to deal with all kind of questions or people or managers. Also job market has changed and very competitive now. So take up some courses and certifications. I can tell you about US. Online courses do have some value here. Then spending money on qualification/MBA/MS or any course, definitely helps more.
Carchafire website is very good, even 1 hour phone call help in your area of expertise you can do It saves them lot of time and money
