HI Ilites! hope everyone is doing well. Due dates are getting nearer. I am getting false pains when i try to walk fast. I am glad my work schedule right now is very easy until my leave in 1.5 weeks. Despite that I am having a tough time walking to the bathroom all the time. Take care and good luck. Stay hydrated to avoid premature labor! Avoid stress. Get as much sleep as you can.
Hi varchana Thanks for the advice. Hi all, Anyone has planned for preserving stemcell of the baby? Kindly share all ur thoughts on this so that others can get a clear picture over this. Also all aug due moms, pls pack ur bags in advance and keep it ready.
We have opted for this...Talked to my doctor about this and she said its like an insurance policy... She was talking about a few possible scenarios in the future of someone who has stem cells saved: Scenario 1. you may never need it Scenario 2. it may not be relevant for the kind of emergency you may face in future Scenario 3. The amount of stem cells retrieved may or may not be enough for treatment even if you end up needing it. Scenario 4. It may come in helpful even if you have in small quantity due to technology advances. The scenarios 3 and 4 are mostly why people are opting for this. I live in Canada and she said she sees 1 or 2 families a year opting for this. It has been increasing in recent years however. After talking to her, we did go forward with ordering a kit from a private company (where i live in Canada our hospitals are public health and don't offer these options) . We will need to take this to hospital when we go for delivery. We ended up paying about 1500CAD initial fees and the storage fees are another 150CAD a year. Any other specific questions you have, do let me know...
Wishing all August due mommies a less painful and safe birthing experience. Hope God stays with you through out the birthing process. Take care ladies.
Hi August mommies! I had my son on July 31, normal delivery at full term. We both are doing well. Good luck to all ladies. Motherhood has a steep learning curve. Apparently you are supposed to change diapers every 3 hours regardless of poop or pee. I did not know this until my baby's day 5. If you ladies plan to breastfeed, buy some nice larger cup bras and use nipple cream after every feed to avoid/treat nipple irritation.
Congrats Varchana.. Iam Happy to know u Both are doing well. Enjoy u r Motherhood. Take care. Thnkq for u r suggestion.
Congrats @varchana .. God bless you and your little prince!!! @ all other August mums - hang in there!! my EDD is on Thursday 11th.. so just waiting waiting waiting....
Good luck Vidhya! Hope you have a easy and normal delivery. Dear senior ILites, could anybody direct me to a newborn care thread? What do you girls say we turn this thread into a newborn care thread soon? Experienced Mommies, how often did you feed your newborn? Do we have a schedule in India? because here my pediatrician said to feed my baby every 2-3 hours (starting time to starting time), not going without feeding him for 4 hours even if he's asleep or at nights. Also I found this awesome thread: Baby care
