Dear Yashikushi, Thank you so much for all the encouraging comments. Yes, all the paintings, crafts, dolls, kolam, neivedyams, perumal andal set up, props were made by me. Golu is set up at our house in two rooms - main hall and one room. My primary motivation for this theme was to learn 30 thiruppavai paasurams and their meaning. When I started reading last year, there were so many upanyasams, vyakyanams and blogs that beautiful described Andal, Thiruppavai and Swapadesam (inner meaning). After reading for about 8 months, I started hand work in June this year. The final set up and assembly took about 10 days. Every year as per the theme, I craft dolls, stitch dresses and decorate the dolls and also try appropriate paintings. I had the pleasure of explaining each topic listed above to every visitor which took about 45 minutes to an hour (depending on their time, interest and availability). Several visitors also shared their perspective and provided additional information. Thanks again for your kind words. If you are in Chennai, please do come and visit in person. I will be having the Golu till next Sunday. All my friends at IL are also welcome.
