Contemplating moving to Texas- Need Advice

    Hello ladies,

    We are contemplating moving to Texas in the near future. Wanted to get some details about the state.
    Some background info
    1.We are currently residing in upstate NewYork.
    2.Reasons behind moving - harsh winter, not lot of Indians, slow job market
    3. Both are engineers and have a preschooler
    4. We are from south India

    Need advice on the follwoing
    1. good and safe place with good schools.
    2. Is DFW area is good choice since we both are in tech indusrty.
    3. How about other places in Texas like austin, houston and san antonio for tech jobs.
    4. we are planning to visit differnt places in texas to get a feel of it. Where to stay and what places should we include during our visit.
    5.How is the weather, too many hail storms or tornadoes. ( to tell you the truth, I got used to snow storms of upstate NY, and getting scared of hail storms down south...go figure:))

    We might move to south east houston(near nasa,houston)..
    i do need some suggestions gals about apartments,safe place,preschools..

    Hi,
    We are also planning to move to DFW area TX, trying to find good apartment communities around Plano (with good school district). Please suggest if anyone has any idea. Seems like lot of our people are there, any help in this regard is much appreciated.
