    Hi Mam!

I tried the Pillsburry Cooker Cake yesterday as per the measurement and procedure mentioned in the box. The cake did not raised up.

Can anybody tell me what could be the mistake?

I kept the vessel with cake mix on top of the another bowl inside the cooker so that the water should not fall inside the cake mix. Is that the cause?

Did you put the whistle after closing the cooker lid. Try without whistle. Even while making idly using whistle will not allow it to raise.

I did not put the whistle and I did not cover the vessel also.
I baked it for 40 mins as mentioned in the box.

You need to put the lid on cooker without whistle. It will raise, try next time :)

    Happy cooking

I think when you bake a cake in a pressure cooker you don't put water as it will steam the cake and not bake it .
I have made it earlier without putting water . Put the usual mesh plate at the bottom and put the vessel with the cake batter on top of it , uncovered . Then put the cooker lid with the whistle on. let the cooker become hot then reduce heat to very low . Try like this i think you will succeed . Do not keep the batter for long after mixing . Keep for baking immediately .

    Dear OP
Do not use water to bake d cake..instead of dat put a layer of salt(cooking salt) on the cooker den put ur cake container .Now cover the lid without whistle and bake the cake for 25-30 min. After dat check the cake by inserting a knife,if it comes out clean it means ur cake is ready.
U can search the recipe on internet also, refer NishaMadhulika video for cake in pressure cooker recipe. Her recipe video help u to get the desired cake.

    hi,

    no need of water.

avoid water, cover the cooker with its lid without the weight on top.

low flame 45 minutes if u keep , cake should come proper.

    try this next time.

    regards,
    resmi

Thanks resmij! If not water, what to put inside the cooker? Sand would be OK?
