welcome to jewelry making.I will give small list which are basic things needed.When you see them, you will get some idea.


1.Cutter(to cut the wires etc.
2.plyer
3.gear lock.(very tiny piece used to lock the end of the wire or thread before beading.
4.closed ring(used at the end)
5.open rings (It comes like a spring)
6.gear wire.
7.loreals(beads)
8.golden beads and silverbeads
9.earring hook
10.earring nail
11.anklet hooks
12.hooks
13.rope(to connect to the two ends of the chain) and chains
14.bangle base
15.stud base.
16.If you want to make a stone necklace, You will get necklace set.You can make a necklace set with jimikis with that.
17.stones and crystals and beads.

These are basic things.Once you see these in shops, you will get an idea.But first learn the jewelry making and buy things as these are little costly.

NOrmally you get such things in PUDHU Mandabam area.YOu can make a try.

You can buy each item seperately.In chennai we get the materials in broadway parrys.YOU also get in T.Nagar but slightly costly.One of our ils AnushaKmurthy can guide you better on the shop details.You can ask her too about this.She will be able to help you.

In Chennai, you can try the following places...

- R S Fancy - necklace and earring sets are available(no need to buy separately)
- Oswal Trading - Perumal Mudali Street, Parrys corner(whole sale shop, buying in bulk makes sense)
- Raja Stores, Pandian stores - T Nagar (ranganatha street) , of the two, Pandian is little cheaper. However, Raja stores has a lot of fancy stuff !!

I just came back from Chennai. I managed to get the jewellery making materials from Parrys. Wow! lots of materials. I bought some to try to make indian jewel, after I make I will share my work in this thread.
