Yes I have got the shots for second trimester and flu shot as well. After going India I got one more shot. Sorry I don't remember now for what it is. In Chennai airport there will be lots of porters waiting in the baggage claim area to help those who are in need and they would bring it to the exit gate. They are very clever they would ask for dollars but I had Indian currency so I gave them 50 I guess.

Ramya - your responses were helpful. Thank you.

Kalpana - thanks for opening this thread - even i was worried.

Few more questions i have - Can we spend all of 2nd trimester in india? wont we miss the OB consults and tests that we need to take in US during that time.. Should we just have that tested in india? Will ob gyns be ok with us not consulting with them for 3 months?

And will there be any issues in port of entry if we are pregnant (at 6th month it will show and they can find out)

I also need to go for my H4 stamping during my india visit. Will that be a problem?

hi happy...if you are spending 2nd trimester in India, better to consult a ob there... i suppose they should take you in.. you can try some doctors known to your friends or relatives there or thru your family doc...
There shouldnt be any issues at port of entry... Just have a medical certificate from here stating that you are fit for travel and similarly while coming back from there...
H4 stamping shouldnt be a problem either.. Incase your kid is born there you should get a H4 for him.. else you can get it stamped... No issues... HTH

    Hi Kalpana,

I prefer emirates bcoz etihad has very less leg room, which might be uneasy during pregnancy.

Thanks Krithika.. i'm also thinking of Emirates .. look like they've better service than others.. except that it costs double the amount as Etihad.. but somethings have to be compromised.. :)
