Craft work for 8 year old

she can try glasspaint.in embroidery she can start with cross stitch/ straight stitch.
stitch kits r available in the market.

U can ask her to make status or wall hangings using ice cream sticks

What Kritka said is correct. Greeting cards making is nice, And cross stitch kids are available and that can be also be teech to her.

My son is also same age group. To keep him busy, i always see the websites of ART -ATTACK .com, ENCHANTED LEARNING.com ,CRAFTS.KABOOSE.com. There are so many nice ideas there.

nice to here abt ur interest...
like to share few of my ideas which i do while playing vid kids near by....

1. after brushing n other activites - thy 'll help me in gardening-watering, cleaning
2. after bath... sure pray to god vid small slokas...
3. after breakfast, the joy starts...

(i). memory game:- tell a word say god - ask the kid to say a new word desk along vid old word...so it will be like god...desk.... so on...
(jus 15-20 mins twice a day)... --- improves memory, keeps brain active

(ii). i place things in my rooms... n ask d kids to view those one by one n try to write in paper... thn whn all kids wre finished ... tht will be checked , make the kid to point ? he wrote in tht paper n try to make him guess what can be done with it....imporves vision, memory, can learn the purpose of anypiece of thing...the more the kid predicts... the more we need to encourage.... pat him on his shoulders, give chocolate, any small gift etc...
this helps in positive winning attitude...

(iii) smalll painting, sketching, cutting n pasting papers..... etc small crafts.-card making.... now he is active with brain, eyes, hands...
give waste of vegetables like ladiesfinger... ask the kid to paint with it... use water colors jus like stamp... jus touch the color vid this veg n stamp it on the chart or paper.... try new patterns...

(iv)after lunch sure little sleep....(let the kid make his bed... also after sleep let the bed be cleaned by him)... ----- make him to do his own work...
not only in this... in all aspects we can follow tis and make kid to do his work...

(v) after refreshments.... u say a number or alphabet or make a lot using those.... ask the kid to bring a new shape by drawing... n coloring it...
---- improves creative thinking
also we can make thm do like.... paper collage, etc...
like tis many ... this is the way i njoy my wkends...n holidays....n also during my summer camps
