Get Together ideas

In US it's very common to meet people, have get together and it's like the more the merrier. I am sure people who have been staying here for a long time, have their social circles.

What do all do when you meet other Indian friends. Talking is always there.

Recently at a meet-up at our friend's place in Chicago, music show was organized. They had karaoke machine and tracks. Each person sang with it before others. There was a potluck and it was a wonderful day meeting new people. Activities bring people together.

Share your experience like what games you play. Board games are popular here especially in US. Also watching movies together is fun. Computer games seems to be a good idea too.

hello MeenLoch

In our place we usually have a potluck and gossip, meet new people etc.... But the last dec 31 we wanted to do something fun. so we had some silly couple games where each couple participates and it was a big hit. every body started to get enthusiastic slowly and for once we became like kids. infact all the kids were a little annoyed Witsendwith us that day.

other option is poker. man u have some interesting and weird conversations at that time.

so these are the things we do.

Hi meenloch,

We usually organise potluck every month. we enjoy singing songs, playing ideal couples, finding out the movie names by actions, playing cards like uno. Even we are thinking of doing something different. so if anyone have any ideas you are welcome.:yes:

people who have already conducted such games, can you please list some.. It wil be nice to share the games. :bowdown. we can all try it in our social circle..

mine here :
A pack of straws are provided. hubby pokes the straw on my plait/hair in 30 secs.. max straws win.

pass hula hop from one head to another without using your hand. goes like a musical chair..

When we get together, we play Pictionary and Taboo. It's lot of fun! We always end up with some funny drawings in Pictionary.

Taboo is the game of unspeakable fun. Players give word clues to their teammates, trying to avoid the forbidden TABOO words!
It is a party word game. Players take turns describing a word or phrase on a drawn card to their partner without using five common additional words or phrases also on the card. The opposing partners watch a timer and use a buzzer to stop the game, buzz the player describing if one of the five off limits words or phrases is used, or the describing player makes any gestures. The describing team gets a point for each card they guess successfully and the opposing team gets a point for each card they pass on, make gestures on, or lose for saying one of the off limits words or phrases. An excellent party game!
