I have been using prestige 7.5 litres for many years. Till last month I had no issues with it. Suddenly the cooker has stopped giving whistles.i.e. it gives a continuous hissing sound and I can't count the whistles. After placing the whistle I have to wait near the stove for some time and push the whistle and keep on standing there till 4 whistles. I don't like to set the time and come later on to switch off stove.Because I might forget. I changed gasket but to no avail. Is there any problem with my stove burners or cooker?:hide:

    Dear Sister Igirish,

During our Mother's days, Manufacturers Quality was looked at long term, since these days many new products coming in, Quality seems to be moderate as people want to explore new products.

Since you mention many years probably it is time for a New One, these days Prestige Smart Kitchen comes up with Promotional Exchange offer, you could try out the one that suits your needs.

I sail in the same boat, trying to find some time to do SHOPPING...

Happy Shopping and Exploring new dishes...

    Best Wishes, Sairam

    Dear Igirish,
I too had experienced the same problem and the problem might be with pressure regulator which is on the top of the cooker where u place the whistle..Nearest auth. dealer will help u with that.

I also had the same problem. I changed the whistle but that does not give whistles. Somehow managing with it . When the sound comes a little keep it for sometime then put off the gas. It is getting cooked also properly.

Hello saisakthi by 'many years' I meant the brand not the piece. I have been using this for nearly 5 years. Previous one lasted for about 10 years and I exchanged it for this piece. As chetavani says it may be a problem with the steam vent. I had a doubt on my stove because it takes longer time to give out steam before placing weight.

    Hi,
Try to tighten the steam vent where you place the weight....(hold the 'below the lid 'part with one hand)it works for me.
It seems to be a problem with that.....if tightening doesn't work...you may have to change it.
    Hope it helps.
