Yes, you have to cut and through the darts. You have to add seam allowance to the pieces that are joined together.

    Re: Romper- Drafting and stitching

    vani mam,
it is the useful pattern, for tailoring peoples.
it is very simple and easy to understand your patterns.
it is very useful, when we go to visit a new born baby,we can make this dress as own and present it.
    thanks for sharing.:bowdown

Re: Sewing Zip to the garment

I had bought many zips(different colours) but did not know how to fix them. Now I can try.
It will be great if ur tutorials are made sticky so that we won't have to search for it.

    Dear Madam,
Will you please guide about alterations slipping sleeves wide neck etc also the precautions to be taken while cutting these areas for I see that I take curvier cuts which lands me in trouble if you could guide in this area it will very helpful.....

If you start another thread or rename this thread as Ask Artvani It will be easily recognisable....
    Thank You

Hello Vani, I found your instructions for sewing a Bharatanatya dress and with my very limited sewing experience, I was able to make a dres. let me see if I can post the picture here. I liked your detailed instructions (although I did get lost a little bit - but that is from my lack of sewing exposure). (I should have made the big fan larger and also the small fan). Besides, my selection of fabric is not optimal for this (one side border and very soft silk - reason was I had this saree which has some flaws and didnt' have the heart to throw our but couldn't wear it either). (did post a picture on Arts and Crafts at Bharatanatya dress from Vani's instructions | Indusladies ) Send me any comments/suggestions you may have to improve on this. THanks again for the instructions.
