hello Ladies We were planning to organise baby shower for our friend, but unfortunately she is not in her best of health and hence we had to cancel. However, we (me and DH) want to give her a surprise before she goes into labour. Organising a baby shower is not possible. Is there any other way of surprising her and treating her? Any thoughts would be helpful.
You can buy a cake or any of her favorite sweet and some ballon as "Its a Boy" or "Its a gal" and walk into her room when she is with her baby .
Sorry to hear about your friend's health. I wish her to have a safe delivery .One of my American friend had problems before the delivery. So we had to cancel her baby shower. After the baby came home, we had a party welcoming the baby. With her husband's help, we organized the party. It was fun. May be you can do it. I am form Madras and we have a ceremony ( Bangle ceremony) before the first delivery. If you want, take nice colorful bangles, a sari ( or whatever you want to give) and flowers along with her favorite dishes to her place. Talk to her husband before you drop in. For a friend of mine's shower, we decided each person take fresh food for the new mom and dad for 15 days. Those days, it was hard for the parents to come here. Some people got her groceries, others took her to the doctor check up instead of giving baby gifts. Good luck and enjoy.
Thanks nigu. It definitely seems to be a good idea. I was just wondering if we could do something before she goes into a labour.....so that she is quite happy and satisfied..(she has a month to go for her due date)
Thank you Coffeelover for your reply. Party after delivery does sound a good idea, and she too would not be having her parents around, so probably taking some of her chores will be good. I was just thinking if I could do something before she goes into labour, so that she is happy. Since this is her second, I would not be able to implement the bangle ceremony..but it does sound very exciting. Thank you for all the tips though. Appreciate it
