    Hi,

Have a 3yr old daughter who goes to school (Pre-Kg)
In the evening we visit the play area - she drives her cycle, plays on swing and others. We are new in the neighbourhood, so she does not have yet a regular friends.

The problem is when she sees another kid(same age or 1 or 2yrs more) who ever is a little friendly to her, she starts following the actions of the kid each and everything following inch to inch at the back.

And sometimes expects that kid to join the swing or cycling whatever she does. And if the kid does something else starts crying and wants that kid to do as per her expectations.

I find it very difficult explaining to her that she should not be following others or copy others actions. And throws up tantrums by the time we return back home.

Please help out. Do your kids of this age behave like this?

    Thanks
    Deebbi

    Hi Debbie,
It is very natural for kids to copy what kids of their age do. So I think you should let her play the way she sees another kid play, if it's ok for her age. But when she expects the other kid to join her you may tell her that she is yet to become a friend of hers, may be she should ask herself for the other kid to play with her. Who knows child to child asking they can make friends too!
