    Dear Titli,
    Pleas go to
    Rice Roti
Also try Akki roti in the tiffins thread.
I do not know, if you followed my pudina sadam recipe or someother recipe. Please try
    Pudina Saadam(mint rice)
Since pudina is ground, it will be only green in colour. But for pulaos, always use bright green fresh pudina.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Nyeturi,
Varali manjal is a slender variety of manjal specially used for cooking in South India.
If you do not get it, add turmeric powder, as a substitute.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chitra,

Few days back I asked you the recipe for Chakli and I am happy to say I tried butter muruccu and it tasted yummy. :2thumbsup:

Long time back I gave you a feedback abt the Jasmine idlis. Can you tell him how to make idlis using idli rava? (as my husband bought a packet of idli rava thinking it is upma rava)

I even looked into the MW Coconut Burfi & before doing it wanted to know should I use dry coconut?

    Thanks in advance,
    Leo

    Dear Leo,
    Thanks for the FB.
Recently I gave 2 non-rice chaklis. If you are interested, please try them
    For idlis with idli rava:
Mix 3 cups idli rava with just enough warm water & salt. Mix & keep for 30 mts. In the meanwhile, grind soaked urad very fine. Just before removing it, add the soaked rava, grind just to blend them & remove. Allow to ferment & make idlis the usual way.
    For urad
1 - either wash just once, soak in just enough water & keep in the fridge, take out & grind directly
    Or
2 - soak in water for 30 mts, drain for minimum 1 hr & grind.
Both these methods give fluffy dhal.
This proportion is for mixies. For grinder the proportion can be 4:1.
I have never used dry coconut for MW burfi. I always use freshly grated coconut only.
