    Re: Eating Cheese during pregnancy?????

In USA it will tell on the package if its pasteurized. There are many "soft" cheeses that are fine like cream cheese, cottage cheese, cheese spread. I believe they are talking about the cheese with active molds like blue cheese, limburger which are runny and smell bad...I can' t imagine that novice cheese eaters would go for those. So many elements of cheese are good for pregnant ladies including the milk fats and the protein. The only drawback for eating a lot of cheese is constipation and that can easily be corrected via other parts of the diet.

I really dont know if it induces heat but elders ask to avoid eating jamun fruit. And they have a funny old wives tale behind it saying the child might get a dark complexion :)..

nothing has been proved..so hold your limits or put a word to your doctor :hiya

    Thanks Cindhu:)

Today only I had taken 3-4 fruits. When I asked my gynaec last week, she told that there's nothing to be avoided during pregnancy and asked not to try any new fruits / food now i.e., we should not try any foods now which we had not taken earlier

I had soya chunks/ tofu when I was pregnant but yeah not daily. I think anything in moderation should be fine and yes it is an excellent source of protein.

Re: soya chunks are safe during pregnancy??

I have soy chunks/paneer/cheese/egg or some form of protein everyday and every meal if possible and I don't have any side effects. I'm 27 weeks right now and I have been doing this for more than a month and a half now.

Uma, avoid Feta cheese and you are good to go. My SIL loves cheddar and she had it through the pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby boy recently.

soya chunks are good for you .. but I would not eat them EVERYDAY.. maybe 2-3 times a week.. try and get protien in other forms..

everything in moderation is ok.. dont eat anything in excess
