Just thought it would be interesting to know some of your favorite combination dishes, for example, VenPongal and Gotsu which is typical of TamilNadu. Many regional combinations are unknown to many of us. For instance my MIL is from Karnataka and she says they(people in her city) have Pori(murmura) Upma with Chilli Bhajji for breakfast over week ends.. Post your favorite combinations too.
Mine all time is Curd Rice with Maavadu, Curd Rice with Mahaali Pickle (don't know the English name for this). Sambhar Vadai is one too that I always order at SaravanaBhavan.

hi smartsoul, here are my favourite combos from andhra: upma with sambar( recently i tried this, its so yummy) pongal with coconut chutney curd rice & lmn pickle or mango pickle ulavacharu(horse gram) & cream (its homemade butter-venna) moongdal dosa & upma(this combo is famous in andhra) undrallu(we can make it on vinayaka chavithi) & mango pickle- and so on.................

Hmmm..Making me drool anyways my favorites are: 1. Curd rice and maa vadu 2. Milk and marie biscuit 3. Sandhavai and vella paaghu 4. Briyani and salted potato chips(not the branded ones) 5. Rasam rice and mutton pepper fry 6. Chapathi pieces soaked in milk and sugar 7. Fresh Bread,butter,jam Oh no lot more :coffee
here are my fav combos pongal with avakaya sambar rice with potato chips andhra pesarattu with ginger chutney mango pappu with ghee and green chillies (this one only since i became pregnant ) and lots more Hansika
