    Hello friends,

    Singhade

'Singhada' are nut like, with black outer covering and white inside. They are delicious and easily available in Hyderabad.

'Gengul' are brown stick like food which is lightly peeled and then eaten. They are easily available in Hyderabad. I am not able to get a picture for gengul.

I would like to know the english and telugu names of Singhade and Gengul.

    Thanks.

Thanks, but the water chestnuts in the picture on wikipedia look totally different.

Also I wasn't able to find any references about Gengul from the internet or any books. If anyone finds discovers any, please let me know.
