    Hi everybody

I stumbled upon this thread just day before yesterday. Thought I will share my diet plan too. I weighed a hefty 95 kg before I started dieting. Loved food, hated exercise. So naturally put on huge amounts of weight. I am around 5'6". So I need to reduce at least 30-35 kg. I am planning to give myself 18 months to achieve this goal as I don't want to crash diet and put on all this weight back soon.

I started dieting on 24 July. So by 24 July 2010, I hope to have lost 25 kgs. The rest hopefully in the remaining 6 months.

Here's the diet I have been following:

    1. Morning: have 500 ml of water in empty stomach.
    2. Around 9, I have an apple. Then, by 10 or so, one orange. By 11.30-12, I have 4-5 dates. I feel rather than having all the fruits at one go, if I take them at regular intervals, my sugar levels are under control, and I won't feel hungry till 1 afternoon.
    3. Lunch: one serving of rice for sambar/avial/kozhambu/rasam with 2 or 3 helpings of poriyal; one serving of rice for low-fat curd rice.
    4. Evenings: 1 glass sugar-free apple juice (only if I feel hungry)
    5. Night: Preferably 2-3 oranges or grapes. I am specific about these fruits as they help prevent constipation. One glass of low-fat milk.
Approximate consumption of water in a day: 1.5 litres

I have lost 4.5 kg in 2 weeks and this motivates me a lot. But after reading the posts in this thread, I feel all the more motivated thanks to our very supportive cheerleaders and fellow dieters.:thumbsup

I will post details of my diet, esp if there are any changes.

I have just one query: is it ok to occasionally freak out? On Saturday, there was a party and I had naan and paneer butter masala. I also had idiappam. Feeling so angry with myself about it:rant

I have modified my diet because I am not able to sustain it fully. Here are the alterations I have made.

Morning: 1 biscuit of Weetabix in 1 cup of skimmed milk along with half an apple

    Lunch: Same as earlier

Dinner: 1 biscuit of Weetabix in 1 cup of skimmed milk along with half an apple (around 7.30 pm)

This diet is able to sustain my hunger better.

Thanks, Ruby! I did take it when I was breastfeeding but I didn't know that it has so many other benefits.

I shall start on methi as well. Does it also help with losing weight?

my diet plan with daily routine is as follows:
8:00- take just hot water with empty stomuch and do yoga
    breathing exercises(for 1hour to 1 1/2 hr)
9:30- breakfast(oats with milk/dosa with sambhar/any south india bf without oil)
    11:00 -any fruit juice
    1:00-lunch (1 cup rice with1. curry 2.dal/sambhar/rasam 3. 4 tsp of curd)
    3:00 or 4:00- one whole orange/apple
8:00 or 8.30-dinner (same as lunch but without curd)
10:00 -one glass hot of milk
Note:For every 2hrs I drink 1 glass of hot water and if I am hungry I eat fruits especially oranges. If possible I eat bolied sprouts.
I think if u follow this its enough u can easily shed 5-8 kgs.No need of starving.
