" Dear Beneficent brother / sister
The charity people have no better to feel and cherish than offering, which is greatly valued by the poor and needy people who will pray for Allah to maintain the glory and comfort to our beloved country.

UAE Red Crescent are keen to deliver your donations to the beneficiaries; therefore they are pleased to set forth for you some guidelines regarding the collection and delivery of your in-kind donations, that they gather within our efforts to assist the local needy categories and the victims of disasters and crisis abroad.

1 – Foodstuff

· All donated foodstuff materials must be in good condition and fit for consumption.
· The validity of the canned materials should not be less than 6 months.
· Proper packing, and storage of the foodstuff such as meat, rice, sugar, and oil should be considered, they should not be exposed to any damage that may cause spoiling or leakage of its contents.

2 – Medical equipment and supplies, furniture, tents

· In case of donating PERSONAL medical equipment, electronic equipment or house furniture, it is preferred to consider the efficiency of such equipment and their ability to work properly and effectively, so that such items can be delivered to the beneficiaries in a good condition.

3 – Stationary

· Red Crescent receives the donations such as school bags, exercise books, pens, school books and references either new or used.
· We prefer receiving usable items.
· To make sure that the donated stationary items are in good conditions, which will allow us to sort them out easily so that they can be presented to the beneficiaries nicely.

4 – Used clothes and covers

· The process of preparing such donations requires substantial efforts and work, so that they can be presented in a suitable way, so please consider the cleanliness of the clothes and avoid their exposure to damage that make them unfit.
· It is preferred to classify the clothes according to age and gender so that they can be easily and quickly prepared and arranged.
· Make sure that the clothes are free from any personal properties.
· Please notice that the donated clothes shall be washed and ironed properly and in good order.

actually I have still not gone there to give away all the clothes i have collected. But i felt i must share this information with all of you since i remember reading a thread about used clothes in UAE earlier,
and as usual we Indians never really feel like throwing away anything.

I hope this inspires all of us ladies to start cleaning our wardrobes :thumbsup
